I'm glad to have the original 1998 pressing. But I bought also the repress from 2013, 180g but haven't opened it till this day.. Some say the first is still the best pressing. What do you think? Thanks!!
Does anyone know What happened to the entry for the 2017 repress?
Amazon shows another vinyl release for this mid April 2017. Rolling the dice and did a pre order. Seems the ther two reissues had some problems according to some people. Hoping this one might be better.
I got stupid lucky and just got this. I took a gamble on a guy with less than stellar feedback on eBay and got this for under $40 in auction! I checked all pertinent numbers along with everything included and it's an original. It only took two years of waiting to get a great copy for under $100.....
I just got a copy of this, same barcode and identifiers as this release, except it's got a third disc with alternate versions of a few of the songs. Red label this time, just as little info as the first two, no inner sleeve for the third disc and it's not mentioned anywhere. I can't find any reference to it online either and Shazam has no idea what it is. I quite like it, it was a pleasant surprise, it's just very confusing because I can't find any mention online of a third disc.Edit: Looked up the matrix numbers, it's the Teardrop 12".
Hey you rookies!!! Stop adding this to your collection, you don't buy 1998 original release for 25€ on Amazon!
melody of you
I know right? How did 500 something people have this in 2011, now over 2000 do??
I have a copy with orange labels and without printed inner, so this is probably unofficial version, but I bought it in 2007 so it cannot be released in 2009. Anyone knows something about this issue?
This is the first Massive attack album without Tricky. It's a little darker than their previous work, there are some good tunes, "Teardrop" in particular, but I don't hold Mezzanine in the same esteem as the first two albums.
It's much higher. For me it is their number one madterpiece up to date.
If you ask me - and I own both - the 2013-Vinyl-Release sounds crisper, warmer and has a larger spectrum. The 1998-version is mastered excellent: but the re-issue feels just a bit less edgy. If you own the original in good shape don't bother. If you plan on getting one: go for the still a little cheaper re-release.
Labels with tiny type are little help when trying to ID what side is what. But sound quality on this pressing is nice.
Just received a counterfeit copy of this vinyl from Amazon Market Place, which I'm about to return. Seller claimed that the record came with printed inner sleeves and that was a collectible item. They charged me £39.99 for it. When I opened the parcel, I realised straight away I was sent a bootleg: poor quality of printed images, orange labels with no text and blank run-outs. But it did come with printed inner sleeves!Always ask for matrixes before buying. A copy with printed inner sleeves isn't necessarily genuine.
was the seller Marvelio?
Wow 515 have this, no one is selling.I bought this from HMV in Chester during the week it was released. At the checkout i was warned i might not like it and the lots of people had returned it because it was nothing like Blue Lines. I bought it anyway and bloody loved it, different direction, and amazing. totally stands up today.
happy light
hahaha, I also bought mine in Chester HMV... Just sold my copy on here!
